St. Paul's Suite for Clarinet Quartet

$26.95

Originally for string ensemble, Gustav Holst wrote this piece for and dedicated it to St. Paul’s Girls School in London in 1913. The suite consists of four movements:

  1. Jig: Vivace

  2. Ostinato: Presto

  3. Intermezzo: Andante con moto

  4. Finale (The Dargason): Allegro

You may recognize the tune heard in the fourth movement, as it was also used by Holst in his Second Suite in F for Band. This piece is suitable for high-school aged players and up, though it is quite an endurance challenge when played in its entirety. Each movement holds up well on its own and can easily be programmed individually on your next concert or recital.

Featured on Lake Effect Clarinet Quartet’s album, Cooler by the Lake.

Includes Score (32 pgs) and 4 parts: Clarinet in B-Flat 1, Clarinet in B-Flat 2, Clarinet in B-Flat 3,inet in B-Flat
