Someone to Watch Over Me for Clarinet Quartet

This sweet and flowing tune by George Gershwin exudes quiet romance and deep nostalgia. Written for the Broadway show, O, Kay!, this song was originally conceived as a more upbeat tune, but was eventually recorded as a slower, ballad version in the 1930s and 40s, which is still the most popular version today. The melody passes among all four clarinets, weaving it’s way through the ensemble to create a cohesive and satisfying piece of music. Suitable for more intermediate and advanced groups alike, this one is sure to be a winner for both musicians and audience.

Includes Score (6-pgs) and 4 Parts: Clarinet in B-Flat 1, Clarinet in B-Flat 2, Clarinet in B-Flat 3, Bass Clarinet in B-Flat

Recorded as a single by Lake Effect Clarinet Quartet; purchase on Bandcamp or listen wherever you stream music.

About EHM Publishing

EHM Publishing was started in 2016 by Erin Miesner, a Chicago-based clarinetist and arranger. Erin got her start arranging clarinet quartets for the Lake Effect Clarinet Quartet and then expanded to arrange music for all varieties of instrumentation, especially works for solo clarinet and piano, bass clarinet and piano, and clarinet choir. EHM Publishing's mission is to provide high-quality sheet music for beginners through advanced players. Each piece strives for equality amongst the parts and to provide works which will enhance the playing of both the individual and the ensemble.

In addition to publishing works arranged by Erin, EHM Publishing has collaborated with Chicago-based musician Nora Shaffer to publish her clarinet method book for intermediate players (Scales and Harmonic Studies for the Intermediate Clarinetist), as well as oboist and composer Laura Adkins to release a method book that introduces extended techniques for oboe (Intro to Extended Techniques for Oboe).

Works published by EHM Publishing are performed at a wide range of locales; from local solo and ensemble festivals to the Chicago Cultural Center and have been featured on Lake Effect Clarinet Quartet’s albums, Nielsen, Grainger, & Strauss and Cooler by the Lake.
